Celtic Equine Veterinary Practice

Description:

Celtic Equine Vets is a proudly independent and exclusively equine ambulatory practice with four equine only vets covering West Hampshire, South Wilshire and East Dorset. The practice area extends to a 25 mile radius from our base in Minstead-near Cadnam in The New Forest.

Celtic Equine Vets was founded with the aim of providing a small team of highly experienced equine vets offering a high quality, professional, reliable, personal and cost effective service with continuity of care at the core of the practice. The Celtic Equine Vets team is made up of Alan Hough (Director and Veterinary Surgeon), Caroline Gillespie (Veterinary Surgeon), Emma Hill (Veterinary Surgeon), Georgie Hough (Practice Manager), Laura Russell (Office Manager), Jenny Woodhouse, Sarah Bessant, Sophie Budd and Joanne Leak(Office Administrators).

We aim to provide the highest standard of routine and emergency care at your premises at affordable and competitive prices for all types of horses and ponies from professional athletes to happy hacks. We bring our expertise and modern, portable equipment to you, delivering the high quality service you would expect of a clinic-based practice, without the associated costs. This also allows you the opportunity to be fully involved with the diagnosis, treatment and ongoing care of your horse, pony or donkey in the comfort of his/her own home.

We provide a 24/7 emergency service, 365 days a year, giving you the peace of mind that no matter what time of day or night, your horse will be attended by one of our experienced vets .We cover our own out of hours emergency service as we feel continuity of care is very important to our clients.

Celtic Equine Vets has invested in fully portable equipment including high definition portable digital x-ray units for each vet, two portable battery powered ultrasound units including a high definition hospital grade scanner for tendon imaging, a portable high definition video upper airway endoscope and a portable high definition video gastroscope. This ensures all procedures can be carried out at the our client's premises. Most of the equipment is battery powered which allows us to work at premises and fields without mains electric.

Alan, Caroline and Emma have over 30 years equine experience between them. Alan is hugely experienced in all aspects of first opinion equine medicine, holds a post graduate qualification in Equine Practice and has a particularly strong interest in equine dentistry and equine reproductive medicine. Caroline has completed an equine internship in Cambridge and has a particular interest in equine lameness and ophthalmology. Emma has completed an equine internship at Donnington Grove Equine Hospital and enjoys all aspects of equine veterinary but has a particular passion for equine lameness.
