Description

Unique opportunity for a motivated individual. An extra pair of hands is needed for youngstock training. Working alongside the yard manager, the ideal candidate will help in the training side of things with a young foal e.g standing for the farrier, leading and being tied up. The aim is to create a well rounded and mannered foal.

The ideal candidate must be confident handling big horses and won’t scream if the foal rears up, for example. The foal is halter trained and used to being around people but he is a foal and unpredictable so a calm nature is paramount.
Experience working with youngstock is essential. References are required. Sadly we won’t accept applicants under the age of 21 years. Own transport is required due to location of stables.

Great rates of pay dependent on experience. Willing to consider free-lance grooms.

Opportunity for more work for the right candidate involving the other horses. However the foal training is the primary interest.

There will be several stages to the interview process including a telephone interview to short list candidates to the final stage of meeting the yard manager and estate manager in a social distanced interview. Please email CV’s and experience. We will try our best to email unsuccessful candidates.

Description

I am looking for one or two completely reliable, very kind, competent, FLEXIBLE and fit people, located as close as possible to Stuckton, Fordingbridge to assist with the care of my beautiful but severely asthmatic pony . This would suit somebody who loves walking and keeping fit as her care primarily involves taking her on long (3-4 hour) in-hand walks across the forest, but hours are very dependent on the weather which affects her asthma. Usually this would be Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays but flexibility to help with extra days and weekends is needed and to help with general care sometimes. Josie was trained to an advanced level in natural horsemanship and now she does Academic Art of Riding in-hand exercises to keep her strong, so somebody with experience/interest in either would be preferred. She is usually beautifully behaved and I am looking for someone who will consider it more than a job - who will love Josie like their own, always do their best for her and have her be an important part of your life. I am happy to pay, and/or part-exchange hours for grass livery (possibility of stable) as we have space for another 1-2 horses/ponies.
