The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Assistant Instructor to join our team. You will support our instructors in delivering engaging, confidence-building riding lessons and help ensure the smooth daily running of the yard.

Responsibilities include:

Assisting with teaching lessons and leading groups or individuals under supervision
Helping with pony preparation, grooming, and tacking up
Supervising riders and ensuring safety at all times
Supporting yard duties such as mucking out, feeding, and general care of ponies
Providing a warm, welcoming experience for clients and visitors
Requirements:

Must be available weekends and at least 15 hours per week
Confident working with children and ponies of all temperaments
Friendly, positive attitude and good communication skills
A willingness to learn and work as part of a team
Some previous experience in a riding school or equestrian setting is desirable
Relevant qualifications (e.g. BHS Stage 1 or equivalent) are an advantage but not essential

The position is for either 1 or 2 full days a week running the yard or a 3/4 days doing a 2/3 hours a day mucking out to a high standard and poo picking including a weekend day. .

We are looking for an additional member of staff to help with all yard duties. School Farm is a livery yard with 41 horses that we care for, it is a physical job and requires a fit person who ideally has previous experience with horses. We need a weekend day cover and a few days during the week. We are flexible about the days but a weekend day is essential. We are seeking a confident and experienced P/T staff member (20hr per week contract over 3 days) for a small hunting and drifting yard in the new forest. The required applicant should have hands on experience working in a yard solo and under direction with a good eye for detail and work ethic.

Role requires riding a range of horses from ponies to youngstock and hunting horses on the open forest so must be a calm and confident rider.

Either a Thursday - Saturday or a Sunday - Monday.

Due to my ongoing health problems, I am looking for a reliable and detail oriented person for a few morning and evening shifts per week. There is the option for more work days and longer shifts in the longer term.
