We have a 4 day a week position available at our Riding School & Livery Yard in Ringwood. We are a small yard of approximately 28 Horses ranging from quiet riding school horses to competition horses. We offer hacking into the New Forest to all levels of rider and children from the age of 4. We also offer lessons in our 20x50 floodlit school.
We offer a high level of care to the horses we have on livery with us, and we would therefore require someone just as passionate as we are to ensure that this level of care is maintained on a daily basis.
The primary role will be assisting in escorting rides out onto the forest, providing basic tuition to all riders in a professional and friendly manner. We also require someone who has experience teaching, or who would be willing to do this with some training. Daily yard duties will also need to be carried out alongside taking rides, which will include everything from Mucking out to poo picking. We would ideally like someone with previous experience working in a similar yard environment, but we would potentially consider someone without this. Applicants must be able to ride to at least a BHS Stage 2 standard and be competent and confident riding out in the open forest. More opportunities such as schooling, jumping, competing, and bringing on horses can be available to the right person.

-Be passionate about working with horses and all the care that is involved
-Have good people skills, and be confident talking to members of the public
-Be able to work well in a team, with the possibility of taking sole charge if required (not a necessity)
-Be confident and competent enough to hack out in open spaces whilst assisting other riders.
-Be confident enough or have the experience to teach group riding lessons in the school to adults and children.
-Be able to muck out to a high standard
-Be happy to carry out all yard duties, even poo picking!
-Be confident handling all types of horses, including competition type horses that can be unpredictable.
-Be knowledgeable in basic equine first aid

Required working days & hours;
-All applicants will be required to work ideally one weekend day 8am-5:30pm. This includes a 1 Hour lunch break.You will also need to be able to work during school holidays.
-Working hours may change depending on time of year, sometimes we will start earlier and finish earlier, sometimes we may finish later. We would like someone who is understanding of hours when horses are involved you can t always finish bang on time!

-Immediate start required ready for school holiday period.
-All applicants will be required to send a full CV, as well as video footage of them riding. Successful applicants will then be asked to come in for an interview/trial day (this will be unpaid). Accepted applicants may require some training days which will be paid.
