15hh Tobiano Cob Mare – 10 years old
Whiskey (San Cler Calon Lan) from the well-known San Cler Stud in Wales, breeders renowned for their distinctive colouring and the pearl gene.
Whiskey is a lovely genuine mare who has done a bit of everything. She has experience in show jumping, cross country , Showing and has been trained and competed in British Dressage up to Elementary level. She has attended stay-away shows, training camps and an Area Festival, proving herself to be a straightforward and reliable partner.
She is very easy to do in all ways, with a kind and gentle temperament. Whiskey absolutely loves her hacking, particularly on her own, and is excellent in traffic. She is currently barefoot and has very good feet.
Whiskey is not mareish at all, she is a very sweet, slightly sensitive mare who enjoys a quieter herd situation. She prefers being turned out alone or with one or two kind companions, as she can get picked on in larger groups. She truly enjoys her person’s company and will make someone a very special best friend.
I have owned Whiskey since she was 4 years old. Due to financial reasons I have made the very difficult decision to sell. For the last two years she has been on part loan with a lovely 78-year-old lady happily hacking the country lanes. Over the past few months I have started competing her again to prepare her for sale. I am in no rush to sell and will wait for the right home.
My ideal home would be a capable, mature lady rider who wants to enjoy a variety of activities — someone who perhaps has competed in the past but now wants a safe, kind and easy horse to enjoy. Whiskey is not a world-beater, but she is honest, willing and will happily go into any arena and do her job.
Typical cob, she can get itchy in the summer and her colouring attracts flies. During warmer months she lives in an anti-itch / fly rug, is kept clean and regularly washed which keeps her comfortable. All rugs will come with her.
