My lovely horse lorry is for sale – she’s an oldie but a goodie!

As she is now 42 years old she is EXEMPT from car tax and no MOT needed. Insurance is also very cheap (£200 this year for any driver over 25)

Very simple workings – no computers or sensors to go wrong! All manual – manual gearbox, manual windows, manual choke - makes it all very straightforward.

Petrol engine – doesn’t go much over 50 with my horse onboard (sometimes 40 up long hills) but then I wouldn’t want to go much faster with him anyway.

It has a rear ramp for loading and side ramp for unloading. Both have internal safety doors that then lock back to make a runway, meaning it is very welcoming for loading. Jockey door with window in door and above. Two stalls with chest bar, padded central divider, padded sides and back.

Great for 2 smaller ponies or one horse and all its stuff.

Floor has a wooden base over the metal for extra security and to be non slip. Storage area over the cab.

Window and sliding door between stalls and the driver – I keep it open so I can chat with my horse on the journey 😊 Drivers seat and double bench passenger seat in the front, all with seat belts. Tow hook & coupling.

Although it has not needed an MOT, I have had annual safety checks for peace of mind. I have just had a new starting motor, fan belt, 2 new door handles and locks, new washer pump and blades. Last year had 4 brand new tyres, and new bulbs throughout. Year before had all new rubber matting and wooden struts on the two ramps. Brakes, door lifting mechanism, engine etc., checked each year.

Comes with 2 saddle stand/carriers, 2 buckets, water carrier and collapsible shovel.

Selling because we are both getting on a bit and are frankly feeling a bit knackered but have had some lovely times with the lorry. Hopefully someone else will get to enjoy it now.

A very sad sale of my lovely reliable horsebox. Only selling now as just not used to its full potential. I have owned this lorry for 3 years.

This is a beautiful Rice Beaufort treble; I think one of the last built. I have all the original paperwork and keys. It’s in beautiful condition and has been resprayed at considerable cost. It’s had a small alteration inside in that I’ve had a locker added internally but will still fit a pony in when set up as a treble.
It can take 2 huge horses when set up as a double and 2 smaller horses (I’d say a 6’6 rug sized horse!) and a pony in the front. My 11.1hh fits quite happily. It’s huge and airy, everything loads into it and it tows like a dream.
I spent ages trying to find this trailer, a fortune having it brought up to scratch but health issues mean that I can’t manage a trailer anymore and have had to go to a lorry. Happy to send more photos - please just ask.
