Looking for someone to full loan my ex-racer when I go to uni 16.1, 9 year oldTo stay at current yard or move locally ( Twyford, Winchester) and keep current Farrier.Quite green and can be very sharp at times. He has jumped a small course of jumps, been to clinics, and has lovely paces. Loves to hack, can have the odd spook but nothing silly, very well behaved with traffic but can nap on his own. Can be strong on the ground so looking for someone experienced. Has regular dentist and physio. References required. 17+Lots of videos and more information on request
Johnny is a 'been there and got the T shirt' kind of guy. He completed 27 flat races, has hunted and evented up to 90cm with my daughter. He's a handsome devil who prefers to go bitless these days and is available as a happy hacker to stay at Moreton Equestrian Centre. At the experienced age of 17, he loves to tootle round the forest in his well earned retirement, or do low level dressage at Moreton, and is happy and healthy in his job. He would come with full tack and wardrobe and I am happy to still skip out his stable and groom him when I'm there looking after my daughter's event horse. We love Johnny to pieces but all funds are now being used up by eventing and training which is why he is available for full loan.
Flicka is a 16hh, Irish bred 15 year old mare, that I have owned for 3 and a half years. Looking for a full loan due to the fact that I am moving to New Zealand for a year, she is to stay at current yard in the New Forest near Fordingbridge, has an arena, jumps, and hacking access straight out onto the New Forest. She is currently being rehabbed from a minor ligament injury which won’t have any effect on her ridden career once her rehab finishes in June, she has kept a lot of her fitness through her time off and am happy to discuss further details privately. Flicka is not a novice ride and requires a confident and competent rider who is willing to deal with her quirks, she is better in consistent work, 4 to 5 days a week which she has been in with me for the last 2 years. She is a forward going mare and has a quick and trainable attitude. Flicka is a dream to handle, she is perfect to clip and load as well as travel, plus doesn’t need any sedation for her dentistry and comes to a whistle in the field. She is a talented and quick-thinking mare, she is competing at Novice and training at home to Elementary. Although Flicka does have her quirks and needs someone willing to deal with these both in the school and out hacking, that means she is most definitely not a first horse or for someone coming off of ponies but once you know her it isn’t an issue to deal with. Over the last year while competing at local unaffiliated shows she has consistently scored in the mid to high 60s at both Prelim and Novice. I know she would excel with someone who wants to continue her training up the levels as she has such a trainable attitude. I am not the most confident jumper but with other riders Flicka has proven to love her jumping and is extremely honest, she has the scope to jump but I have never pushed her past single 1 metre fences due to my own confidence. Flicka enjoys hacking in company but needs someone who is confident and will show her the way as she is a herd horse who finds leaving the yard a bit stressful! Once out on the forest is forward going and happy to lead. I have only hacked her with company but am sure with the right rider she would be happy to hack alone. We have miles of hacking straight out onto the New Forest with no need to go near roads. I am ideally looking for someone who is a competent rider, looking for a forward ride that they could compete, she is not a first horse so no novices or people coming out of riding schools. Financial contribution required, comes with full tack and wardrobe. She is on part DIY livery so yard chores and daily care is required by we can help out with somedays if necessary and alter her days the yard do her to suit you. For the right person Flicka will be a great horse, she loves to compete and work, is so easy to manage. Viewings can be arranged for June once she has finished her rehab and loan to start in July when I leave, there is scope for loan to last longer than the year I am away.
For long term loan.Rising 11yo 14.3/15hh show quality homebred coloured cob gelding. I am looking for a long term loan home for my lovely boy as lack of time due to work commitments means he is not getting the attention he deserves. He has been well handled since birth but was not broken until 2019. He was professionally broken and then ridden on a little by myself, but has only had basic schooling. He is for that reason only suitable for an experienced person. He is not going to be a plod along cob as he has a big personality, he just needs someone to bring him on. He has not been ridden all winter due to lack of time so will need bringing back into work. Please be aware that despite his age is is very green and therefore can be nappy. He is NOT for sale.He must stay local to Salisbury and references and yard visits will be required along with a contract.
Very pretty coloured mare, although not a cob she has a lot of bone! So could be a mother daughter share.Snaffle mouthed, has hunted, done all pony club activities, hacks alone and in company, showing, show jumping, XC and in the past has even driven. She is 20 this year and although she has a lot of life still in her she does not really enjoy schooling and I'd rather she didn't have to school to be honest. She is brilliant on the lead rein or as a second pony for a confident child or small adult. She loves to hack on the open forest.Jabs, vaccinations, teeth all up to date. Has lived in New forest for most of her life so is very used to crab flies. She does have sweet itch which we manage with a sweet itch rug and lotions, and I will continue to do so daily for her. Good to clip, loads like a dream into anything, currently bare foot but easy to shoe. She has been out on loan and children have lost interested so has come back to me. I don't want her to keep going out on loan, so I'm looking for someone to have her as their own but to stay on full livery on our private yard with direct forest access. She really craves a person of her own to love her! She is a real good doer! Never had laminitis and never sick or sorry. Im after someone to love and ride her, if you are looking for a fun happy hacker with amazing hacking then please get in touch. Financial contribution required as this would be a full loan.
I have both my children's ponies available to loan, either fully or part loan (part loan 3/4 days per week, £100 per month per pony). Both must stay at their current yard in Fishers Pond. Will not consider sale. Yard has an outdoor school with lights, onsite instructor available for lessons, excellent hacking nearby. The yard is very friendly and children are welcome.Rosie - 11.1, 18 year old Welsh grey mare - very sweet pony, good for kids lessons and used to jump well in her previous home some years ago. Good to hack. Well behaved. She was my son's first pony. Good for the farrier (barefoot), needs sedating for teeth, vaccinations and teeth last done January 2022. Good to catch.Skye - 13.1, 20 year old Welsh Chestnut mare - currently happy hacker. Schools nicely but has not jumped in years and would not be suitable for someone only interested in jumping. Would be best suited to an older child or small adult. Well behaved. Was my daughter's first pony when she was 10. Good to shoe (she has 2 front shoes), needs sedating for teeth, vaccinations and teeth last done in January 2022.
14.2 Welsh X gelding for loanLovely pony looking for a hacking home and a new best friend! No beginners please.Chester is a 14.2 17 year-old liver chestnut Welsh X gelding. He has previously done lots of Pony Club rallies, camps and shows. He has been leading a quieter life for the last few years due to mild arthritis in his hocks and coffin joints, which has been medicated previously. We are looking for a home where he can continue to hack out and potentially do some light schooling. He won’t be suitable for a competition/jumping/Pony Club home. Chester is well-schooled, responsive and not strong, but he is not a novice ride as he is spooky and can be sharp. We hack him everywhere so he just requires a confident rider. Goes first, last and by himself. He is very used to and well behaved in traffic. Has been hunting and to the beach several times.Chester loves a cuddle and is generally easy to do. He prefers to live out all year round as this is all he has ever done. He is very used to being on a busy yard with children, dogs and machinery. He has sweet itch, but this is managed with a Boett rug, fly repellent and lotion and it doesn’t affect him being ridden at all. Chester has been with us for 11 years and will be very much missed. We are only looking for a new home for him as university won’t leave much time and he would still like to have a job to do! He will only go to the right person so serious enquiries only. He is up to date with vaccs/teeth.Will come with all tack and rugs.Happy for him to move but all new homes will be vetted.
Tommy has been in his current home for 7 years and is now sadly outgrown. He is a delightful pony on the ground and has been regularly handled by little people as well as adults. He has been a perfect lead rein pony for several children and is as happy hacking out as he is doing some school work. Now 20 years young he is looking for a quieter life, although still benefits from hacking and schooling with some small jumps to keep him active and engaged. He is good in traffic.Equally Tommy would make the perfect companion pony as he is amiable with all other horses he has contact with.Tommy is not suitable as a first ridden pony and needs someone who understands the needs of a pony who can suffer with laminitis if not managed correctly, although he has not showed any sign of this on the last 7 years he had suffered from it in his previous home. One definitely not to be missed, please call Sarah for more info or to arrange a viewing
I’m tentatively looking for a companion home for my lovely mare Chip. She’s 22 years old, 15.3 ISH, and has been retired for 2 years. She’s very affectionate and always the first to the gate. 15.3 7yr old TB Ex racehorse, currently being retrained for dressage/allrounder.Lovely moving mare, has the potential to go far.Has been XC schooling and competed in prelim with good results. Perfectly behaved at shows or out and about. Ridden on the beach and on the New Forest. Powerfully built so can be strong but is safe. Looking for someone to continue her education. Good to shoe, box, catch, clip etc etc.Selling as I sadly lack time to take her further.Based in Plaitford near Romsey/ Salisbury £500007881715875
I have a lovely 10 yr old new forest gelding. 14hh He was broken last year and is green and a little nervous of new people after living his first 10 years on the forest. I bought him 6 months ago and I increased his work load to a higher frequency than was helpful to him and our school was a little soft and boggy which bought on some suspensory inflammation. I have put remedial shoes on him and he has had 1 with no plan for more steroid injections now also Indeba treatment to keep any inflammation at bay going forward. He is now completely sound. I haven’t been told not to school but I plan for him just to be worked for hacking to prevent anything further, he is full of character and cheekiness, little nervous of new people and needs a field safe head collar to let a new person catch him but I never need it now he trusts me. Very nervous and dubious but am looking for someone to love him and spend lots of time with him.
16 yr old tb mare Ex polo pony For loan or sale as a companion or light hack for a light weight competent rider. Very easy to do and good to handle in all ways. Turns out with mares and geldings, good doer.
