Introduction
The NFED proudly provides and funds a free event diary to support community‑based activities. Eligible events include those organised by BHS Affiliated Riding Clubs, non‑profit groups (such as the Pony Club, BHS, BD, YFC, Hunts), and events held primarily in aid of registered charities, club funds, or other recognised good causes.
To keep this service free and widely accessible, we rely entirely on the support of our business advertisers. For this reason, events organised by commercial venues, individuals, or profit‑making enterprises must have an active Standard Listing in the NFED Services Directory to be included.
A Standard Listing costs £3.00 per month, offers excellent visibility for your business, and directly supports the running of the NFED. To add your venue or services to the directory: Click Here.
Please note that use of the event diary is not included with Economy Listings or Classified Ads.
Commercial events held at venues with an active Standard Listing are eligible and will be marked with #freecommercial. To browse eligible venues: Click Here.
To maintain quality and prevent spam, all entries are posted and edited by the administrator. Simply submit your event details; once approved, they will be added to the diary. If your event is cancelled or needs updating, please contact the administrator directly.

Commercial venues include: equestrian centres, livery yards, cross country courses, shops, etc, that hold or host equestrian events as part of their business.
Directory Listings
If you have a commercial venue, regularly hold events, clinics or hire out your venue, course, arena, facilities or equipment, a Standard Listing in the NFED Services Directory will give you or anyone using your venue full use of the event diary.
Event organisers & instructors with a Standard Listing in the NFED Services Directory can advertise events in the diary regardless of the venue.
A Standard Listing in the NFED Services Directory costs only £40 per year or £3 per month by PayPal subscription, a link will be added to each event: Click Here to submit your Directory Listing details.
Note: A basic economy listing is also available, but events are not included with an economy Listing.
Mixed Events: If the event contains both open & commercial events, the commercial event will take precedence, the commercial event rules will apply.
Virtual Events & Online Shows are not accepted The diary is for events that can be attended only.

Submitting an Event
The easiest way to submit your event details is to use the submission form - Click Here. The form will ensure that all required details are provided.
You can Email the details to editor@nfed.co.uk with subject: NFED Event Diary Submission.
The events details are needed as text to allow us to copy & paste into the calendar.
Screen shots or images are not text, therefore unacceptable & the event will be rejected.
Please avoid duplicate entries. If unsure, check the diary to see if the event is already listed.

When required information is missing, the form cannot be sent. Please review the form and complete all fields marked or outlined in red, then resubmit. Once the form has been submitted successfully, a confirmation page will appear and a confirmation email will be sent to the address you provided.
Repeat Event Dates
This option is for identical events held at the same venue where only the date changes. Enter the additional dates in the Repeat Dates field and the system will copy the event to those dates. If the online entry link is different for each date, please email the date and the correct link. For any other differences, such as a change of venue, please submit each event individually.
Short Summary of Event (Max 1500 Characters)
Please provide a brief summary of the event. Do not include the full timetable, class list, or detailed schedule, as these can be uploaded separately as downloadable files. There is no need to repeat the event title or location; these are automatically displayed at the top of the listing.
Event details must be plain, unformatted text presented in a single column. The maximum length is 1500 characters; anything beyond this limit will be omitted. Copying and pasting directly from a schedule may introduce hidden formatting, which can cause display issues.
Do not include advertising, sponsor information, or external links within the event description. Online entry links should only be added in the dedicated Online Entry field. As long as the full URL is provided, a clickable link will be created for you.
If you do not yet have all the information, placeholders are welcome so that others can plan their dates. However, the essential details must still be included: date, title, venue, a short description, and contact information. Additional details can be added later when available.

Providing all required details are supplied, the event will normally be added to the calendar within 24–48 hours. You’ll receive an email with a link to review the event details, which you can then share with friends, clients, members, or customers.
If required details are missing, the event will be rejected without notice.
Schedules, Entry Forms & Downloads.
To protect the interests of our advertisers and the safety of our users, all schedules and entry forms must be hosted on our own servers. This allows us to check every file for viruses or malware before making it publicly available.
If you use the event submission form, schedules and entry forms can be uploaded at the same time as your event details. Alternatively, you may email the documents when they become available. Please attach the files directly to the email — for safety reasons, we do not download documents from external links.
We take great pride in the site and always aim to provide clear, high‑quality information. Please send the original documents wherever possible. We can convert most formats to PDF and will add a watermark to show the source of the document. If your schedule has multiple pages, please send it as a single file. If this isn’t possible, we will combine the pages for you, but this can be time‑consuming and may cause delays.
Screenshots should be avoided where possible. Out‑of‑focus, distorted, or poor‑quality photos will not be used. If you have the original document, please send that — it makes the process far easier for everyone.
If a schedule is amended, please send the full updated version and we will replace the online file for you. The watermark will be updated to show V2, V3, etc., along with the date of the amendment.
Online Entries
If you are using a genuine online entry or booking system that allows people to submit entries and pay securely online, a link will be included — provided you supply the full URL to the specific event. The correct link will contain the unique event details and open the event directly with one click.
Please do not expect us or our users to search for your event. Generic instructions such as “www.equo.com”, “find us on Equo”, “see our website”, or similar will not be used.
Do not use an online entry link in place of the event summary. A proper description is still required, and submissions without one will not be accepted.
A social media page or club events page is not an online entry system unless it includes a secure method for submitting entries and making payment.

Preparing diary entries takes considerable time, and correcting incomplete information or chasing missing details makes the process much harder. A well‑prepared submission helps us publish your event quickly and accurately.

The NFED is a trusted resource, and maintaining that trust means keeping the calendar accurate. If your event details change or the event is cancelled, please notify us by email immediately. Failing to inform us directly undermines confidence in the diary and the effort we put into it. Repeated issues may result in future submissions being rejected.
