Why is My Featured Advert Not on Facebook

Facebook Community Standards do not allow the sale or exchange of animals between private individuals. Selling or buying animals directly on Facebook is prohibited. Because of this, we must ensure that any advert we share complies fully with their rules.

Only the title of your advert is displayed when shared on Facebook or X.
To comply with Facebook rules, we cannot share adverts for animals if the title includes:

  • Buying, selling, offered, wanted, available, loan, for sale, or similar terms
  • Prices or any wording that implies a transaction

If you would like your advert shared, keep the title simple and limited to the animal’s details only (e.g., breed, age, type).

To protect the NFED Facebook page, we will not share adverts that:

  • Are likely to be reported to Facebook
  • Risk breaching Facebook Community Standards
  • Could cause controversy or attract negative attention

If an advert is shared and later becomes problematic, it may be removed without notice.

If you edit your advert to make it suitable for Facebook, please let us know. We will review it and share it on the NFED Facebook page if it meets the requirements at that time.

We have no control over Facebook’s moderation. Even compliant adverts may be removed by Facebook, and sharing anything that breaches their rules may result in a page ban. Sharing is therefore done entirely at your own risk.

To keep our advertisers safe, we don’t share ads on Facebook or X that include personal contact details or that could expose the advertiser to unwanted contact or risk.
