NFED Help & Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Difference between the Classifieds & the Service Directory

Classifieds

The Classifieds are designed for one‑off or private adverts.

  • Adverts appear at the top of the chosen category when approved, then move down as new adverts are added.
  • Only one category can be selected per advert.
  • Classifieds can be viewed by category or searched, but they cannot be moved once posted.
  • Adverts expire after 180 days or can be removed earlier if no longer required.
  • Services are not permitted in the Classifieds section.

Service Directory

The aim of the NFED Service Directory is to provide a comprehensive, reliable list of equestrian services from small local providers to larger businesses, across the South and beyond.

When someone needs help, they need to quickly find:

  • Who offers the service
  • What exactly they provide
  • The areas they cover
  • How to contact them

A free directory simply doesn’t work. Listings become forgotten, outdated, and unreliable, which only causes frustration for users who need accurate information.

By charging a nominal fee, we maintain regular contact with advertisers, and outdated listings are removed automatically when they expire. This keeps the directory current and genuinely useful.

The Directory offers:

  • Organised categories
  • Map views
  • Search options
  • An advertiser A–Z index
