NFED Classified Photographs - The Basics 📸🖼️

Accepted Formats & Upload Speed
All NFED Classified adverts accept up to four images in jpg, bmp, png, or gif format. Large image files may take longer to upload ⏳ — this depends on your connection speed. We recommend using a good WiFi or 4G connection 📶 to avoid timeout problems.

Uploading Your Photos
Upload one photo at a time. Each image is automatically reduced to a maximum of 960 × 960px during upload.

You can upload photos at the final stage of advert submission or anytime afterwards through the advert control panel. The main image must be uploaded first to trigger the other images to display.

Successful Upload Confirmation
If the photo uploads successfully, you will see a confirmation message and a thumbs‑up 👍
When the advert is viewed, each image will link to the larger version 🖼️

Main Image Requirement
If the main photo fails but the others upload correctly, they will not be shown until the main image is in place.

Photo Captions
Your advert heading will appear under each full‑size photo. Note: Quotation marks may prevent text from showing under the photo❗

📸 Upload Problems
There are many reasons why photos fail to upload. Large images and slow connections are the most common. Reducing the image size and using a strong WiFi or 4G connection 📶 will resolve most issues.

Images must be in a recognised format. Files such as pdf or Word documents are not images, and formats like Apple HEIC are not compatible with PCs or web servers ⚠️ Some images downloaded from Facebook may contain extra code that causes them to be rejected.

For basic problems, you will receive an error message. If the photo is not recognised or fails to upload within 60 seconds, it may time out without showing an error.

📱 iPhone or iPad
Photos must be uploaded as jpg, not heic. HEIC is an Apple format that is not recognised by website servers, so although it may appear to upload, it will not resize or display correctly in browsers.

If your device is on factory/default settings, photos are converted to jpg automatically. Changing settings to “Keep Originals” will cause upload issues.

Go to Settings > Photos Scroll to Transfer to Mac or PC Select Automatic

Photos should then upload as compatible jpgs without needing to edit your originals.

Regardless of the problem, don’t struggle. If we can view the photo, we can convert, resize, and upload it for you — see Photo Support below.

🔄 Replacing Photos
To replace an existing photo, simply upload a new one and it will overwrite the old image. If it uploads successfully but doesn’t change, refresh the page — your browser may still be showing the old photo from history.

❌ Removing a Photo
If you upload the wrong photo, upload another in the same slot and it will replace the original. You may need to refresh the page to see the change. If you need a photo removed completely, please contact admin. Include your advert number and specify which image to remove.

🖼️ Showing More Photos
To display more than four photos:

  • Create photo compilations or montages — each counts as one image.

  • Add links to online photo albums or videos. Copy and paste the link into your advert text.

🤝 Photo Support
Don’t struggle — if you have any problems uploading your photographs or video, we can do this for you free of charge.
