How Do I Get a Free Advert?

Free adverts are standards adverts that the administrator has approved without the normal £8.99 payment.

Low value equestrian, agricultural, small holding & countryside related ads up to £174.99 (non-animal) may be approved without payment, providing that they qualify, and entirely at the administrator’s discretion.

Free ads are provided to allow our users to advertise low value unwanted inanimate equestrian items without payment. Free ads use the same system & categories as paid ads therefore must qualify or the standard payment will be required.

All horses, ponies or other animals offered or wanted for sale, rehoming regardless of value, full loan, part loan, share, riding offered/rider wanted, do not qualify as free ads so will not be approved without payment.

There are no special free ad categories, but they must satisfy the criteria stated in the guidelines & price list, so please read the rules & guidelines before accepting them. No Price = No Free Ad.

  • All items offered must be individually listed with description & clearly priced no more than £174.99.
  • Multiple items. Prices & amount available must be clearly shown, with a total of no more than £174.99.
  • All items must be inanimate and equestrian, agricultural, small holding or countryside related.
  • The advert must be submitted to the correct category.
  • All items must be available to NFED users & not entered in auctions elsewhere. When a viewer makes an enquiry, they rightly expect the item to be available & to be able to make enquiries or offers through the NFED without being redirected to a third party site to bid.
  • All required details must be supplied.
  • The advert must be submitted online by the advertiser not by Email, phone or post.
  • The same or similar advert or items must not have been listed within the previous two months.*
  • The advertiser must not have submitted more than 15 free adverts in the previous 30 days.*
  • The advertiser must not have more than 30 free adverts online at any time.*
  • Goods being sold, supplied, or produced to order/commission or as part of a trade or business will only qualify if the advertiser has a current listing in the Directory.
  • Charities and Sanctuaries must include their Charities Commission registration number in the advert.
  • Anyone involved with, promoting, canvassing, administrating a website, social media group or page offering a similar service, allowing advertising or in competition with the NFED will not be eligible for free advertising.**
  • Anyone suspected of deliberately abusing or attempting to cheat the system, acting, advertising or trading dishonestly, regularly ignoring guidelines, causing problems, spamming, canvassing advertisers, being abusive to other NFED users or generally disparaging the site in any way whatsoever will no longer be eligible for free adverts. Any existing free adverts will be subject to removal without notice.

All ads free & paid go through exactly the same system, so the payment button will be seen. If the advert qualifies as a free advert & you do not wish to feature the advert, you can ignore the payment section & it will be approved on the next update.

The NFED & it’s sponsors are funding free adverts by allowing free use our resources, support & benefiting from the considerable amount of money, time & effort that we spend on running & promoting the site.

If you appreciate the NFED and the work that goes into the running of such a unique site, you are very welcome to ignore the free offer and pay for the advert. Any contributions towards our running expenses are greatly appreciated. In return, suitable adverts will be featured.

*All users are fully responsible for monitoring their own usage which does depend on trust. Adverts will be checked frequently, if we find that an advertiser is abusing the system, all future & existing ads will be checked from that advertiser.

**To keep the NFED running as a viable business whilst making it possible to offer free ads & services does depend entirely on a sufficient number of paid ads. Anyone involved with, promoting, administrating a website, social media group or page offering a similar service, allowing advertising or in competition with the NFED will not be eligible for free advertising.
