We have just been informed that our existing server will be closed down on the 27th September 2024 & a new server will provided for us.

The server operating system (Centos 7) had reached end of life, the new server will be running on a different operating system, so we are not sure what compatibility problems there will be.

Moving to a new server is never simple! We last did this in March 2021 & not something I had ever intended to do again, but if we want to keep the site running, there is no choice.

We are hoping to get the new server running along side the old one to minimise downtime, but some downtime will be unavoidable.

After the changeover, there will be the usual problems as different providers update to the change of IP address.

As Email services are provided by the server, please check our Facebook & X pages for updates as & when the site is offline.

I will continue to back up the site daily, to ensure that all information & databases are safe.

If we can get everything up & running on the new server, we should then be set for a few more years.
