Description

To stay at current yard, financial contribution required. LWVTB may be considered.

A genuine, sweet natured all-rounder New forest pony who is looking for a new rider.

Oakey has an excellent temperament and is very loving. A gent to handle with a really sweet nature. Always willing to please. He is great with young children and dogs.

He is a lovely confidence/giving type pony. He much prefers jumping to flat work as can be lazy in the school. Dressage is not his thing. He is not strong into a fence, will jump from a rhythm in trot or canter and will give confidence to his rider.

Snaffle mouthed, hacks both alone & in company, first or last & is not fizzy, not particularly spooky. Used to the wild ponies, cows, pigs and donkeys and will happily walk trot, canter and gallop in large open spaces. Good with gates and has seen traffic and farm machinery.

He really does love his forest hacks. He can however put an excitable buck when out in the forest. For this reason he needs to be ridden by a confident rider. He would be suitable for an experienced mother/daughter share or an older child/young teenager/small adult.

Our daughter has moved onto a bigger pony and we are now looking for a rider to ride him 3/4 times week to keep him fit and healthy for this much loved pony.

We have great facilities at our yard including a school and we back onto the New Forest for amazing hacks. We have a variety of instructors who teach at the yard.

Plenty of videos/pictures and references available.

I canít stress how genuine and kind this pony is. He really is a 1 in a million pony.

If you are interested to learn more, please contact Sam on 07740 477952.

Description

Looking for an experienced, confident and trustworthy rider to ride a 10 year old 16.3 Hanoverian mare (sire is Benetton Dream). No under 18s.

Rider must be extremely experienced with sensitive horses - she has good stable and field manners however, she requires a lot of trust and confidence from her rider/handler. Cindy is a very gentle and loving mare, but the time needs to be taken to gain her trust. She is a real project horse with dressage potential (has beautiful paces), so the right who is committed to her is extremely important. She has hacked with someone on foot and is not spooky in traffic.

Cindy is located at a yard just outside of Romsey, where a daily turn out or bring in will be included, with extra services available if needed to cover days of your loan. An indoor school is also located at the yard for use anytime. Financial contribution will be required (between £250-£300), which will include her livery, bedding, hay, feed and shoeing. 2/3 weekdays and 1 weekend day, specific days to be negotiated.

Please contact me if interested, your experience will be required.

Description

We are a not-for-profit social enterprise whose aim is to make a little corner of the Dorset countryside that will offer therapy through animal and nature interaction and eventually Western-style riding therapy and with the riding therapy side in mind and the need for some good Quarter Horse types but the prices being so high now, have dusted off our old Quarter Horse stallion and put two of our semi-retired Quarter Horse mares in foal to him.

We are looking for a volunteer to join our merry band, one who would like to eventually help train Quarter Horses specifically for therapy riding, Western style. Experience in Western riding and round pen psychology not essential, just a willingness to learn and someone not phased by a green horse putting in a buck or a rear and currently our Appaloosa x QH mare has done all her basics and started riding out and we'd like someone to ride her on.

Our fledgling project is run by volunteers and we raise money through various means and so using our horse training methods we will eventually use on horses we will train for our Western riding therapy (initially round pen psychology), we are offering a space for a horse to be backed (while we only have one of our own prospective mounts in training) either Western or English and have a volunteer trainer on the programme and this advert is to specifically find someone to assist her who is also happy to pitch in with a variety of jobs.

Once Covid restrictions are relaxed, we will be able to return to running the variety of sessions we offered with our American miniature horses - children's walk-a-mini-horse sessions (including jumping a mini showjumping course), therapy sessions for disabled or those suffering from stress/dementia and visits to our yard by home-schooled children and visits we made to care homes and events, so would be great if any applicant, would be interested in helping out with these sessions.

With two Quarter Horse mares already in foal to our Quarter Horse x Paint Horse stallion we have another mare to cover again, so an interest in horse breeding and handling foals from next spring would be great.

We have a sand round pen, arena materials to be laid into a 40x20 sand arena, holding pens in our barn along with feed room and sitting area and direct hacking onto bridle paths with no main roadwork.

Lovely weather days often end in a BBQ, free for volunteers, as is lunch and tea, coffee and biscuits.

If this voluntary position is of interest to you, or are interested in volunteering in general as there are a variety of other jobs to do, from weeding, to helping make wild flower areas and a sensory garden, to keeping buildings, fences and grassland maintained (compact tractor for the latter), just get in touch, letting me know what position you are interested in, whereabouts you live and times you may be available and then, pop along for a socially-distanced chat in our breezy barn.

Description

I have two ex competition horses - a 16.3 ISH available for schooling, pole work, some jumping and hacks on site (farm) - please note no road work due to speed of local traffic - hacking on site can be combined so anything from ten minutes to two hours. Possibility of attending low level shows and sharing transport cost, depending on rider. Rider must be experienced with sensitive horses - he has good stable and field manners however he is a powerful horse and does have the potential to buck when excited if jumping, or, when very anxious - this has not happened for a few years but you need to able to ride quietly and confidently and intuitively - he is a kind, lovely horse.

My second horse is a 16.1 TB coming back into very light work - and help with him would be very welcome if you are interested - light short riding sessions and groundwork with him at this time - would like to hack both boys out together on tracks on farm on occasion - he also has a nice nature and although does have chilled out moments, he can be quite sharp or become anxious if there is something 'unexpected' - both horses have a close bond so they need to brought in from field together.

If, from the above, you have the experience, interest, and, could potentially make a medium to long term commitment to ride, help with some stable chores, fuss, groom horses, grab a coffee and have a chat, then please contact me - it would be really helpful to have a good understanding of your riding and general horse experience; if you have photos or videos of your riding to share, that would be useful. I am an 'older' equestrian 🙂 so really looking for someone who is over 25, can drive to yard, and must have rider's insurance. This opportunity may also be of interest to someone who is retired or semi- retired and would just like to have some enjoyable 'horse time' the yard is very friendly and relaxed - there is a sand school with floodlights for the winter.

Flexible days. No financial contribution required.

Any questions please email me, thanks.

Description

Due to pregnancy I am looking for a sharer/loaner to ride and care for my 15.2 Arab x cob

My boy is looking for a new friend to take care of him and ride him a minimum of four days a week.
He is a sensitive boy who up until 18 months ago was completely feral, he has since been backed and hacking well and has recently started schooling. (Kept on a farm so schooling mainly in summer when fields are available)

He is a cheeky loving boy who is sensitive and a big communicator, requires a confident chilled rider as he is NOT a novice ride.
Hacks alone and in company, a little bit more ďlookyĒ on his own but easy if your used to this.
Good in traffic although still a little nervous of cyclists and larger vehicles such as vans and lorryís, doesnít do anything major just needs someone to give him confidence.
Great in open spaces but can be strong, occasionally if rarely can throw in a buck out of excitement but again if you are chilled he is the bravest and most chilled out chap and will give you his all and you wonít have any issues.

Has not had the usual upbringing of a young horse he is a youngster in a ten year olds body, but saying this he is the bravest happiest most loving chap Iíve ever met and will give the right person a great time. You must listen and work WITH him not against him.

Small contribution required towards his shoes and a little poo picking and topping up water on the days you come up.
Must be reliable, minimum of 6 months with a view to extend this for as long as you wish.

Please get in touch should you have any questions.

Description

We are looking for somebody to exercise and care for our handsome boy at least twice a week (one day must be a Sunday and the other day to be negotiated to fit in with our current sharer).
Pilgrim is 18 years old and is a total gentleman on the ground and to handle but is not a novice ride. Being a typical thoroughbred he can be a little spooky at times; that being said he generally is forward going and a really lovely ride. The ideal sharer would be somebody who is confident and experienced but also patient and kind.
Strictly no under 16ís I'm afraid.
Due to early onset arthritis in his neck Pilgrim cannot be used for regular competing such as Jumping or Dressage involving a canter. We currently hack him with some light schooling and pole clinics also. If you are hacking out on the road it has to be in company, but he will happily hack around the onsite tracks and fields on his own.
Normal yard duties would be required such a mucking out & feeding but there is no poo-picking to be done.
He is stabled near Titchfield, Fareham with access to four schools, a track & cornfield within the property for hacking and there are plenty of other easily accessible hacking routes nearby including Hill Head Beach.
A financial contribution of £75 per month is required.
Serious enquiries only please.
Thank you

Mr Bear is an 11 year old 15 hand horse he is a cob but not the normal kick along type forward going hack alone and in company, lives out at present and no duties required hacking is beautiful with people to go out with. He is available for hacking and schooling as well as extra things including shows for the right person if that is what they are looking for most important is to get him out being exercised as he is doing far to well in the field.

Not spooky or silly, he can be strong when ridden will go passed almost anything will lead a hack or go behind and is equally happy alone. Finding the right person is the most important thing... Not looking for a joy rider or youngster coming out of lessons in a riding school he is not that type of horse. Lovely on the ground nothing bothers him.

Please feel free to ask any questions

Looking for a
Lightweight rider 9st max prob no taller than 5í2 to hack my daughters pony with me on a Friday morn. Sheís 5 but very good. She has been brought on slowly and now is the perfect pony. However I would like her to be hacked in the forest with me weekly. We tend to go for fun faster rides and find logs To jump and generally have a blast. So must be comfortable with this. She is very good on forest. Better behaved than the big horses and keeps up easily.

£5 contribution towards shoes for every ride

Please note she has lots of little riders who have weekly lessons but needs an adult to take her out for canters and jumps in the forest just to further her education for the future.

Might also be the chance to hire local
Arenas and jump together. This is what she has done least of as the young riders are mostly flat work and poles.

This is not a loan as such but just to meet me at yard and hack her with me and my big mare.

18+ Not novice as she is young. I would ride her but Iíll
Squash her!

Narla is a 15.3, 7yo mare, very sweet, honest and willing but not without her quirks (she is a mare after all!).

Due to personal circumstances Iím looking for a confident and experienced adult rider for a share agreement or part loan for her.

She is a forward going ride but needs a confident rider to guide her, she can be spooky and is nervous in traffic (she will spin), however with quiet but firm encouragement and forward riding she overcomes her nerves. She needs consistency and is more confident and relaxed the more she is out, unfortunately I canít provide that at the moment.

At the moment we have lessons (she loads and travels well) and hack out. She enjoys her work and tries her hardest for her rider. She is great on the ground (unless youíre the farrier or need to scrub her legs!) and loves a groom.

Ideally someone to ride her 2/3 times a week would be perfect with a financial contribution but Iím happy to discuss as I want what is best for this girl.

Based in Privett. For more info call Justine on 07764 945602.

Description

Looking for a trustworthy and experienced/confident rider for my 14.2 veteran Welsh cob gelding.

He is a super school master previously competed to Advanced Medium, loves to jump and is safe in traffic but he is not for a novice or young rider. He is very spooky to hack alone and has been known to buck when over excited. He does nip & is full of character so if you are nervous/inexperienced he is probably not the one for you.

Never come home from Dressage placed below the top 3. I am happy for him to go out to Dressage and showing as often as you like and to jump every so often but not regularly.

General yard duties on your days and financial contribution required. I am looking for somebody to have him 2 days a week minimum, but happy to discuss more.
