This horse was brought to the attention of Police and RSPCA on Thursday 11th March 2010 at Marchwood. The attending vet humanely destroyed the horse in view of the circumstances and mulpiple signs of neglect, being too weak to stand. This mare was also about five months pregnant with a skewbald (brown and white) coloured foal. Police are appealing to anyone who can confirm to police who the owner of this horse was. It was a bay mare aged about 14 yrs who had had foals previously, and about 14.2/15HH. She had an awesome show not only did she win the Supreme New Forest Championship she also won on the Saturday, Champion Native Junior & went on to be Reserve Supreme Native Champion. The next day she was Champion Home Produced. Champion New Forest Junior, then Champion Junior Mountain & Moorland & Supreme Mountain & Moorland Champion. After this marathon two days of showing “poor Apple was just as exhausted as we were “ says Penny she was very pleased with the English Judge Mrs Rachel Bown’s comment “This is a special pony”

Which ever sites you use, please take care. I've registered the NFED with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre & if approved, will add the Click CEOP buttons to the message boards. The recommendation is not to meet anyone that you have only had contact with online. Obviously this is difficult if you have arranged to meet through the classifieds. We do have a lot of young users & in the past we have had suspicious adverts offering ponies for loan. These have been passed on to the Police & I am continuously monitoring the site, but these people are out there. Please use common sense. Not everyone is who they say they are. Beware of anyone fishing for information or very keen to meet up. If you have to meet, always take someone with you. Meet in a public place. Tell people where you are going. Classifieds Server Error

Yesterday there was a problem with the server that hosts the Classifieds. We stopped receiving Email notifications for new or modified adverts at around 15.00. The engineers were informed & everything was up & running again by 23.00. If you posted a new advert between these times, you may not have received your introduction Email containing your advert number & password. The Emails were sent, but due to a server misconfiguration they may have been rejected as spam. As far as I can see, this will apply to adverts 38144 to 38182. It is only the Email & doesn’t affect your advert at all. If you require your advert number or password, please contact me from the same Email account & I will send it to you. Advert enquiries & replies were working ok.

A meeting has been arranged at which representatives of Animal Health (the Government’s Executive Agency responsible for ensuring the health and welfare of farmed animals in Great Britain) will give a presentation and answer questions on the management of TB in the Forest and the forthcoming change to an annual TB testing regime. All cattle owners with animals in and around the New Forest are welcome to attend. The meeting will take place on Friday, 12th March 2010 at 7.30 p.m. in the Linden Hall, Lyndhurst Community Centre.
