Over the last week I have received a couple of comments complaining about having to pay for certain adverts, despite this being clearly stated in the pricing structure & having been accepted before posting an advert.

The NFED is a service, but is still an independent business & has to pay its way to exist. It has long since passed the point where it can be run in my spare time on cheap shared hosting. It is now my full time job & due to its success it has to be run on its dedicated server which is into three figures. We spend a lot on advertising including Google, Facebook & show sponsorship to attract new users. There are many other costs including shopping cart, PCIDSS compliance & of course the mailing list which now alone costs over £500 per year.

The majority of ads & just about everything else are completely free of charge; the ads that are charged for are kept to an absolute minimum to make the business viable.

This all works well & there are no plans to change any of this in the near future. We are not out to make a fortune, just to run a successful small business at a fair price for everyone. There are no hidden charges, everything is as open & as clear as we can possibly make it.

Steve
