 Post subject: Winchester and Central Hampshire Countrywatch Crime Update

Dear All,

Overnight of 27th & 28th, at Abbots Worthy, riverside huts broken into.

29th, at Swarraton, two males with long dogs seen on private land. Claimed to have got lost as a result of a faulty Sat Nav. They drove off in a blue Ford Explorer 4x4 S995HGP.

Overnight of 29th & 30th, at Medstead, large quantity of chickens and guinea fowl stolen.

Between 29th & 1st, at Woodmancott, crops driven over by poachers.

30th, early hours at Bishops Waltham, a large quantity of Stihl chainsaws stolen. During daylight hours, at Horndean, farm fences cut.

1st, at Sparsholt, late morning, a white Transit van, with red/orange markings on the doors seen acting suspiciously near farm buildings.

Overnight of 1st & 2nd, at Broughton, theft of diesel from farm tanks.

3rd, at Alice Holt, report of two males in a white Toyota HiAce van, reg taken as R233XRV, acting suspiciously near to agricultural buildings.

4th, early evening at Crawley, 6 males with long dogs seen to go onto land. Suspected poachers. Vehicle used, a Ford Transit LC54AJX.

Some Good News

1st, early hours, at Twyford, 2 males arrested for garage burglaries.

3rd, at Catherington, 3 males arrested for theft of scrap.

In case you had forgotten………

Hampshire Constabulary are holding their Rural Policing Event at Sparsholt College tomorrow, Friday 6th May, between midday and 8.00pm.
It is a 'drop in' event, so if you can make it down, it would be good to see you.


Changes

Not a song by David Bowie, but what is happening in relation to Countrywatch in the Hampshire Constabulary area.

1)All Countrywatch schemes will now be contactable via one Email address, that will be checked each day, to cut down on delays in replies.

The new email is countrywatch@hampshire.pnn.police.uk

2) When reporting a non emergency incident, or an crime has happened where suspects have left the scene, please call 101. Tell the call taker what has happened and say that you want Countrywatch informed.
