Topic review - New Forest Country Watch Newwsletter 8th March 2012

Post subject:  New Forest Country Watch Newwsletter 8th March 2012  Reply with quote
Colleagues,

This week the team conducted another Stay Under 40 operation in the South East quadrant of the New Forest. Seven Fixed Penalty Notices were issued as well as one referral to a Driver Awareness Training course. Several people were advised about the manner of their driving.

On Thursday of last week I attended the annual PAW Open seminar (Partnership for Action Against Wildlife Crime) held at Kew Gardens. I was accompanied by representatives from the Northern Policing area and the Isle of Wight. It provided a great opportunity for us to liaise with a vast majority of key partnerships on a regional and national scale.

Over the last week the team have spent some time identifying dates for operations over the next few months. This includes the Stay Under 40 speeding campaign, Operation Dauntless (vehicle stop-checks) and rural crime operations. These have been added to the team diary for the next four months.

We are also in the process of updating our display equipment to prepare for the spring/summer event period. I am hoping to compile an album to promote responsible dog ownership. If you have any photographs of injuries to livestock or similar caused by dogs and are willing to provide them to us to use please let me know. I will arrange to obtain them for you. Please do not e-mail them to me as they will fill up my mailbox and prevent any other e-mails being received! Alternatively, please send them in disk format to me at Lyndhurst Police Station.
