Stolen
February 2005 from New Forest
This Horse Box was stolen in February 2005 from a location
in the New Forest. The Crime Reference Number is DR/1962/05.
As can be seen the vehicle is "W" registered. The value is
put at about £70,000 This vehicle could be anywhere. It may have
been sold, placed in storage pending selling or even shipped abroad............
Whoever has stolen it has gone to a lot of trouble and will have to carry
out a lot of work in order move it on......This may mean repainting, altering
the interior, changing engine numbers, having new documents made. The
person that can afford to buy this sort of vehicle is in the minority...........£70,000
to pay for a horse box is not for the feint hearted.
The purpose of this notification via Hampshire Horsewatch is to maximise
the circulation of this theft. Can you help find it? Are you in the position
to buy a vehicle like this? If you can, be serious and ask a lot of questions
about its history. If you are going to buy a Mercedes Horse Box like this
consider getting it thoroughly examined. You don't want to buy someone
elses misery......and end up being miserable yourself.

Stolen Horse
Lorry 27th September 2004
Littleton Stables, Littleton Lane, Winchester,
Hants SO22 on Monday 27th September 2004. Crime reference: OY-11348-04 |
 |
The gate was securely padlocked, the lorry locked, floodlit
yard with cctv signs everywhere. They took the padlock with them.
The lorry stolen was very distinctive - soon to be re-sprayed I’m
sureThis was Shamrocks demonstrator lorry at Hickstead, only a handful
were made like this one exactly. They are very rare and I have never seen
another Shamrock Elite anywhere.
Royal- Mid Blue with Gold Stripe and Gold 'Shamrock Elite' logos everywhere.
Registration plate: J905 OWD. FORD CARGO 813. SHAMROCK ELITE - Built.
HORSE AREA: It is a 3 horse box, with a small rip in one of the partitions.
Electric Ramp. White back closing doors prior to rubber ridged matting
ramp going up. Rubber matting in horse area. Overhead rack, three windows.
LIVING AREA: At the moment it has navy blue velvet semi circle. There
is a pine wooden table in the middle of the semi-circle of seats. One
overcabin double bed and one to convert ie. sleeps 4. Pine wooden interior
with grey carpet and cloth walls. Grey and Blue and Pine basically inside.
The curtains are very new and have only been in box 3 months. They are
navy and white check. A white oven and sink. A pine fridge, lots of cupboard
space. A 'Roadstar' TV and DVD player in corner pine shelf. It also has
next door a toilet/shower room in one with a small window. All white fittings
and biege waterproof floor and walls.
The living area has two windows out looking on one side and one on the
other. It also has a small window for the bed above the cabin. Again,
all check curtains.
DRIVING AREA: The front seats in the driving cabin are also navy velvet.
Working radio with speakers. Two and driver seat. No safety belts. Typical
ford cargo interior driving area.
LOCKERS/EXTERIOR: The box also has two large tack lockers and several
smaller lockers for other items such as water, gas, chairs tables. The
door from living to outside has a 3step that you pull down. The door itself
has a blind and a window on it.
The lorry worked on 7 different keys - for all the lockers, the doors,
the ignition. We have all the original keys but buyers beware of keys
missing etc.. doors not being able to unlock. Back ramp works electrically
only and with a key.
Many Showing items were on board the lorry including: x5 Show Jackets
- all sizes 34" Caldene and Mears, x1 38" Jacket. Black Beagler
Hat, Black Showing Regent Boots size 5, and several other items irreplaceable
like antique hunting crop and several smart show whips. All very personal
and much needed for upcoming shows.
Anyone with any information should contact the Hampshire Police immediately.

Stolen Pony
Trap
Report received from a Horsewatch member that her pony
trap has been stolen. Theft probably occurred yesterday during daylight
hours.
Cr Ref is BL/011988/02
Description: The stolen vehicle is made by Bellcrown carriages,
is green and has removeable shafts, backstep and wheels (solid, non-pneumatic)
for ease of transportation. There is a handle at the back to adjust the
balance on a winding axle mechanism.
The shafts are black metal with worn paintwork, and are
not those originally supllied by Bellcrown. Its main identifying feature
is a bar to enable the swingle tree to be set at varying heights, painted
with red paint protector not topcoat - this was not as originally supplied
by Bellcrown.
The wicker basket under the seat has worn catches, is
held in place by bungee and contains the spanners to dismantle the vehicle.
There is a removeable wedge seat fitted for the driver belted on top of
the bench seat. There was an orange/red riding vest tied to the back with
string, and it was under a worn green tarpaulin, which were taken when
it was stolen.
It was dragged from in front of the lounge window, leaving
track marks across the lawn to the road. I estimate it would take at least
ten minutes to dismantle or two men to lift/drag it into a vehicle.
It had an estimated £900.00 approximate trade in
value against a new vehicle fom Bellcrown in the spring of this year.
