2 tethered ponies have been stolen from Millhams Road Kinson overnight 21/22 May.

The piebald has a full white mane and black forelock the skewbald half black middle to top and half white the rest

I will try and get these pictures circulated.
There is great sentimental value attached to these ponies

Horse and Farm Watch East Dorset
A report from Hurn on 23 June and several farmers of visits from Irish males trying to sell power tools. They are mainly driving white Transit's with Irish plates.
We have stop checked them many times but there is no offences. However the member is concerned at she caught one of the males in her barn without permission and when challenged asked to buy horse feed. He later returned asking to purchase penicillin as one of their horses has been injured.
A report came from Sturminster Marshall yesterday as the males were found in a rear garden whilst the owner was out.
Please therefore be aware. They are of no interest to me at the moment (although this can of course change). Naturally don't buy from these type of callers - you only encourage them to come back another time.

2 reports which may be of interest one from Little Lonnon and one from Barrack Road West Parley yesterday afternoon of a sus male paying attention to horses.
The West Parley report states driving a silver Navaro Pickup registration YIL 1256 but there is no trace of that one, the Wimborne one a flat bed truck J961 UOF but this also appears incorrect.. May not be connected but please be vigilant. The Wimborne report states the male was admiring the cobb

A rug was stolen from a horse in its field 2/3 Dec Christchurch road West Parley. I hope this will not be one of many.
The only way to prevent a rug from being stolen is to paint it on the outside in large white letters with your postcode. Unsightly yes, but you will do it with the new rug you buy to replace the old one so why wait!

| The Horsewatch Scheme, run by Dorset Police,
has benefited from a sponsorship deal with rural insurers NFU Mutual,
in Wimborne, Sherborne and Sturminster Newton, allowing two hundred and
twenty five more high visibility tabards to be bought. NFU Mutual Dorchester has also donated an engraving machine, which will be used to postcode saddles and other tack. The Horsewatch warden scheme was successfully launched in Dorset Police's Eastern Division early last year. Volunteer horse riders and owners act as rural wardens and the scheme is gathering momentum. |
|
| Demand for membership is so
great that the scheme's organiser, Police Constable Jane Brittain, is
delighted to have negotiated the joint sponsorship with local branches
of NFU Mutual. The tabards were handed over at a special ceremony marking the new sponsorship at Dorset Police's Eastern Divisional Headquarters at Ameysford Road, Ferndown at 2pm on Friday. February 15th, 2002. Representatives of Wimborne and Sturminster Newton branches of NFU Mutual were present, together with Chief Inspector Kerry Habgood, Eastern Division support manager, and Police Constable Jane Brittain. the scheme's co-ordinator. Horsewatch incorporates the Ringmaster telephone system that updates members on crime incidents and trends, crime prevention measures - such as tack and equipment marking, as well as road safety advice. Those wanting to become rural wardens should contact the Ringmaster manager at Dorset Police's Weymouth divisional headquarters on 01305 226570 or the Ferndown divisional headquarters on 01202 226214. The scheme not only increases vigilance in the rural areas of Dorset, it is also in line with force policy to reduce road traffic collisions. It also ties in with the national road safety campaign started by the British Horse Society and Horse and Hound last November. |
