What is a Co-ordinator?

In order to be effective Hampshire Horsewatch needs to be able to receive and distribute information to and from its members. This will happen through a network i.e. the Central Committee will have some information it needs passed onto the members, they will contact the Regional Co-ordinators who in turn will contact the Local Co-ordinators who in turn will contact the members.

We currently have Co-ordinators in some of the areas but not all. If you are interested in becoming a Co-ordinator please complete & submit this form. The roles should not be particularly time consuming as I am very aware how valuable spare time is to everyone! The more Co-ordinators we have the less onerous the task is for everyone.

All members are encouraged to keep themselves updated by logging onto the Constabulary's website (www.hampshire.police.uk) and clicking onto the Hampshire Horsewatch logo or www.nfed.co.uk we try to update the website as quickly as is possible. We try to provide the latest information and this is the one medium where we can reach a wide audience, locally, nationally and internationally!!

Until we have set up the Regional and Local Co-ordinator network fully it is impossible in terms of time and money for the Central Committee to keep in touch on a very regular basis with all its members which I am sure you can appreciate.

Terms of Reference

REGIONAL CO-ORDINATORS

Shall:

• Support the Central committee of Hampshire Horsewatch in its “multi agency approach to equine crime related matters.
• Sit with the Central Committee on the regular meetings.
• Will support issues in his/her area appertaining to crime reduction and prevention in conjunction with police officers of the Hampshire Constabulary.
• Help develop and create Local Horsewatches in their areas.
• Provide support and assistance to Local Watch co-ordinators in crime prevention and reduction issues.
• Devise effective means whereby information can be readily disseminated throughout the region for which the individual has responsibility.
• Maintain a notebook in which will be recorded all information received or passed out whilst undertaking the role.

LOCAL CO-ORDINATORS

Shall:

• Assist the Central Committee plus Regional co-ordinators when and wherever possible.
• Shall receive information of crime related matters from Hampshire Horsewatch committee members or Regional co-ordinators and members of the Hampshire Constabulary and forward it to members or equine community within their areas.
• Shall in conjunction with Hampshire Horsewatch and the Hampshire Constabulary assist in crime prevention and reduction issues where it affects their areas
• Shall forward crime related information to members of the Hampshire Horsewatch.
• Shall help develop horsewatches within their specified or elected areas.
• Maintain a notebook in which will be recorded all information received or passed out whilst undertaking the role.
