New Forest Pony Experience 2008
25th – 28th September

Details are now being finalised for a repeat of last year popular event. The event will start on Thursday concluding on Sunday and it is hoped to include the following:-

• Visit to Beaulieu Road Sale Yard to see the Pre-sale Foal Show organised by the NFPPG where all entries must be halter broken. The Show starts promptly at 9 am and the show entries are then included in the following auction.

• A drift (round-up) will be watched after which you will be able to see the Agisters at work with the collected ponies managing their welfare. An opportunity not to be missed.

• Possibly the turn out of forest run stallions on to their winter grazing – stallions running together.

• Mare Grading at Beaulieu Road, where three judges assess the pony’s qualities.

• An evening at Lyndhurst Community Centre meeting the pony breeders and commoners with talks by Head Agister Jonathan Gerrelli and a judge on the breed. Plus lots of interesting people involved with the New Forest ponies with information on their stands.

• Opportunity to visit pony holdings and riding in the forest.
