A record entry of ponies entered for the first
of the October sales bought forward a wonderfully strong standard
of halter broken foals for the Pre-sale foal show organised
by the New Forest Pony Publicity Group.
Guest judge Cindy Sims commented on what a
tough job she had choosing between such a high standard of
ponies but went on to award the overall honours to Kay Harrisons
eyecatching brown colt “Parsonage Wings of smoke”
which went on to reach 360gns when sold. Mr John Stride’s
pretty chestnut filly “Rushmoor full Cry”(215gns)
took Reserve champion spot. “Blakeswater Flashlight”(195gns)
topped the other colt class for his owner James Gerrelli who
was reserve champion last year. Mrs Teresa Turnbull’s
well grown colt “Bisterne Mr magic” who came 3rd
in his class topped the selling by reaching 390gns in the
ring. The excellent prices achieved reflected how much hard
work and effort the commoners had gone to too promote their
ponies.
