Description
"Committed to improving the treatment and welfare of all animal species throughout the world"

Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) is a UK registered animal welfare charity (No. 1100485) committed to improving the treatment and welfare of all animal species throughout the world. The main emphasis is on providing a sustainable veterinary resource in the form of volunteer veterinary teams, drugs, equipment and advice, to assist animal charities and non-profit organisations around the world.

The health and livelihoods of people, particularly those in developing regions, are inextricably linked to animal health and disease control. WVS provides veterinary trained personnel and support crew (WVS non-vet members) to assist with projects that address these issues. Our projects range from neutering expeditions and mobile health clinics to welfare education programmes and conservation projects all over the world.

WVS work with organisations that share similar objectives to our own. By combining resources with our associated charities we undertake are better funded, better equipped and better organised in order to make a difference where it counts.

WVS also run projects to train veterinary professionals, paraprofessionals and veterinary students in countries where veterinary assistance is limited and has initiated programmes around the world.

We seek to alleviate suffering and improve the welfare and moral perception of animals worldwide by:

•Coordinating trams of volunteers to assist the work of animal welfare organisations in all countries.

•Supplying medicine, equipment and advice where they are needed the most.

•Providing sustainable input, building ling term relationships and leading education programmes to the benefit of local animal and human populations.

•Promoting and conducting research in all matters relating to animal welfare.

On our website you can find details of the conservation, exotic, production and companion animal projects that we are involved with.

Description
Hampshire Riding Therapy Centre is a registered charity (number 1062253) which opened in 1994 to provide a safe haven for children who suffer from diabetes, but these days we provide all types of support for both children and adults with a variety of lifetime conditions.

We provide counselling, therapy, education and riding for people in an environment created to help them come to terms with their individual conditions and realise their potential.

We emphasise the individual, allowing each person to develop at their own pace, increasing their self-confidence and self-esteem. Care is key. As they learn to care for the horse, they learn to care for themselves.

Despite our huge success, we are the only charity of our kind.

We opened the riding school shortly after the charity to support the costs of running the centre. Our volunteers have devoted themselves tirelessly to generating funds and running a great centre; and it is their commitment that has kept the centre open.

With an increasing demand to help more people, we always need to improve and move forward. Donations, large or small; volunteers, full or part-time, are the life-blood of any charity and we appreciate them all.

Please come and visit us to see what we are all about or visit us for riding tuition.
